College Park and the District of Columbia
The University of Maryland is located just inside the Capital Beltway. Just a Metro ride or Uber away, you can catch all the sights, culture, and nightlife of Washington, D.C. If you extend your stay past the conference, you could check out mega-concerts at the Verizon Center, catch a game featuring one of D.C.’s five major professional sports teams, explore historic Georgetown, or just stroll down the National Mall in Federal Washington to visit one of the 11 free Smithsonian Museums and art galleries, the National Archives, the Capitol, the Washington Monument, or the White House. You’re also only a half-hour MARC train ride from Baltimore and Annapolis, where you can walk along the Inner Harbor, take in an Orioles baseball or Ravens football game, and of course try our famous Maryland blue crabs.
